On April 5, we went to Disneyworld for a week. Bad timing. Had it not been planned and paid for last summer, probably would have picked a less chaotic time to go. But, we were meeting my sister, her husband and their 6 kids, and I was very excited about that!
I will just share with you a few things I learned from this trip:
#1: NEVER, NEVER, go to Disneyworld over Spring Break.
#2: The "happiest place on earth" isn't always so happy.
#3: If you have six children, a day at Magic Kingdom costs over $500 dollars.
#4: Kentucky Fried Chicken can actually run out of chicken.
#5: Maybe little kids shouldn't navigate while trying to get around Orlando, you could end up lost:) Or maybe their parents should just double check. Just kidding, we love you Jeremy!!!
#6: Never eat at a chinese buffet if the desert is a self serve 5 gallon bucket of ice cream located next to the restroom door. Mmmmmm!
#7: Funnel cakes actually taste better before your nephew throws up next to you, as opposed to after.
#8: Disney really does have a maximum capacity limit.
#9: Buying tickets a half an hour before they reach their "maximum capacity limit" does not mean you got lucky.
#10: Hearing them call your entire family's names over the loud speaker at the airport terminal saying "last call", while you are sitting at a different terminal usually means you probably got the terminals confused and you are about to miss your flight so you had better run VERY fast:)
We had quite the adventurous trip! Actually, despite all the bad luck we ran into, we still had a GREAT time. My sister and I always find a way to laugh at bad luck. We just had a great time being together.
The second day we were there, we headed to Magic Kingdom. After a two hour bus ride, and waiting an hour in line to get our tickets, we finally got into the park. Couldn't wait to run in and hear the disney music, feel the magic, ride some rides, and get over that grouchy mood the bus ride with 9 kids had put us in. Well, that thought ended quick. It was like trying to manevur through a football stadium right after a big game just got let out. Shoulder to shoulder. Thought for sure we were going to lose a kid. Went straight to space mountain. It was 12:30. The fast pass ticket said to return from 10:30-11:30. That's weird. I will have to inform the guy that the time is wrong, it already passed. So I informed him. He said, "oh no, that is right, it is PM not AM!" WHAT?
Basically, we spent way too much money, were able to ride 5 rides the WHOLE day, and then headed home that night. Next day found out that they closed ticket sales about a half an hour after we got in the park because they were full to capacity. Imagine Disney at full to capacity. Not such a happy place anymore, is it. Oh everyone in the park was trying to keep up the happy facade, but really you could tell that people were just on the verge of snapping. Stayed that way the whole week. So, we stayed and played at the resort. No more parks. My sister and I have never laughed harder because so many unfortunate things kept happening. Somehow, we found humor.
The day after our expedition to Disney, we decided Gatorland would be a safer bet. So we headed out. It was about an hour away. Unfortunately, the lead car took a wrong turn and instead of an hour east, we drove an hour west. By the time we figured it out, we realized it was too late to go. So, we chalked it up as a nice scenic drive. We ended the 3 hour drive at Kentucky Fried Chicken. The kids were starving and we had A LOT of kids. As luck would have it, we picked the one KFC that ran out of chicken. WHAT? Does that really happen? It was fun that we found that out after we had unloaded the 3 carloads of whiny, tired, poopy kids. You should have seen our faces when we ordered and the cashier said, "actually, we are out of chicken"
We did actually make it to Gatorland the next day and it was a lot of fun. The rest of the week we spent on the beach at the resort. It was great.

Trust you to find the humor in the situation. I can't share your experience with Merrell, or he'd say, "See, I told you Disney can be a nightmare!"
I was not aware you had so so so so many moments of madness, but I know you ALWAYS stay so positive for everyone else. Can't wait to see you! Only three more days...
